Local Perspective
North Park is one of the first places I mention when someone wants a neighborhood that combines residential character with an active local scene. It has changed significantly over the years, but its established homes and neighborhood streets still give it a strong connection to San Diego’s history.
Neighborhood Highlights
University Avenue, 30th Street, and El Cajon Boulevard anchor much of the neighborhood’s commercial activity. Restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, boutiques, entertainment venues, and everyday services make it possible to spend a lot of time within the neighborhood rather than constantly driving elsewhere.
Homes & Architecture
North Park is especially known for its Craftsman homes, although you’ll also find Spanish-style properties, bungalows, apartments, condos, and newer infill development. Some streets are dominated by detached homes, while others transition quickly into higher-density housing.
